Activate Windows and Office with HEU KMS Activator

HEU KMS Activator is a free, portable activation utility for Windows and Microsoft Office, developed by 知彼而知己 (zbezj). Version 64.0.0 combines digital license, KMS38, OEM and KMS activation in one interface, with a Smart Activation mode that checks the installed products and picks the best available method. There is nothing to install; the tool runs from a single executable. Questions are answered in the FAQ, and the usage steps take about two minutes.

Usage

  1. Download HEU_KMS_Activator_v64.0.0.exe from the downloads page and compare its SHA-256 hash with the value in the GitHub release notes.
  2. Right-click the file and choose Run as administrator. Windows will show a UAC prompt; accept it.
  3. Close Microsoft Office completely, including Word, Excel and Outlook, before activating Office.
  4. Click Smart Activation and wait. The tool checks the installed Windows and Office editions and selects the highest-priority method available.
  5. Restart Windows or Office and check the activation status in Settings → System → Activation or Office Account.

If you need a specific method, open the dedicated tab for Digital License, KMS38, OEM or KMS instead of Smart Activation. Some modes work offline; digital license and online KMS may need a network connection.

FAQ

What is HEU KMS Activator?
It is a free portable utility that activates supported Windows and Office editions using digital license, KMS38, OEM or KMS methods.
Is HEU KMS Activator free?
Yes. The tool is free to download, and official builds are published on the zbezj GitHub repository.
Which Windows and Office versions are supported?
Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11 and Server editions, plus Office 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2024 and Microsoft 365. Exact support depends on the edition and build.
What is Smart Activation?
It checks the installed products and chooses the best available method, preferring digital license, then OEM, TSForge, KMS38 and finally KMS.
Does it need an internet connection?
Not always. KMS38 and OEM modes can work offline. Digital license and online KMS activation may require a connection.
Why does Microsoft Defender flag it?
Activation tools modify licensing components, so security products commonly classify them as potentially unwanted software. Verify the SHA-256 hash from the official release before running the file.
How do I verify the download?
Compare the file hash with the MD5, SHA-1 and SHA-256 values in the GitHub release notes. The SHA-256 for v64.0.0 is listed on the downloads page.
What if activation fails?
Run the tool as administrator, close Office, confirm the edition is supported, and try the dedicated activation mode for that product. If it still fails, check the release notes for known issues.
